Project
We wanted to create a real added value for the customers of Bert's Weinexpress and the result was "WineTasting" - an app that is intended for all wine lovers globally and will continue to grow as an MVP based on user feedback. However, even the basic version already has numerous exciting features. Among other things, you can keep a cellar book for your wine inventory and conduct tastings at a professional level and also document them. This means that you always have your favorite wine on hand when you place your next order and can also reorder on time using the intuitive display of stock quantities. In addition to designing the prototype, we also developed the app, opting for a tech stack consisting of the Ionic framework for platform-independent apps. The backend was implemented with Node.js, which in turn is attached to a MongoDB. And of course, all components are packaged in beautiful Docker containers.
Customer
Already during his studies, the company founder and native of the Southern Palatinate, Bert Seiter, brought the wines of vintners from his hometown of Edesheim to Regensburg, in order to convey them here to a rapidly growing clientele. Soon, however, he also devoted himself to the import of Portuguese wines and was one of the first to do so in Germany in 1988 - Bert's Weinexpress was founded! Since then, the company's activities have developed dynamically. In direct import Bert's Weinexpress obtains wines from more than 140 wineries from all over Europe as well as from South Africa. In the historic vaulted cellars in the Winzer district of Regensburg, an average of 120,000 bottles of wine are stored, which reach renowned partners in the gastronomy and trade sectors, in Germany and in Europe from here.
